Leading Change: The Principles, Players & Process

Change is a way of life for all organizations! Many times however leaders overlook the opportunities (as well as the challenges) associated with managing the human side of projects and change initiatives. Leading change means understanding the three essential elements of change; principles, players and process. The principles of change govern all change efforts whether we want them to or not. Once a leader understands these principles they are better prepared to lead the human aspects of any project. Integrated with the principles must be an understanding the various change players and the specific roles that each occupy. Finally, adding predictability to the human side of change with clear and effective organizational and individual change processes is essential to every project effort.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Demonstrate to your superiors the business risks and rewards associated with leading change.
  • Apply the principles that govern all organizational change.
  • Describe the three primary player sets that are integral to effectively leading change.
  • Apply an individual change model that effectively leads individuals through any organizational change.
